FIREWORKS 2019: Everything you need to know…

Our annual community fireworks display is tonight! All of us here at Wild Wolf ESU are very excited for our eleventh display, which promises to be the best one yet – and we hope that you are too! To help you plan your visit, we’ve put together this handy guide of all the things you could possibly need to know for the event.

TICKETS:
If you didn’t manage to book online, don’t worry, tickets for both the Low-Noise and Feature Displays will be available to buy on the gate on the night. However, please note we will only be able to accept cash payments at the event, not debit/credit cards.

If you do have tickets, please remember that each ticket only permits you access to one show, and if you booked online, make sure you have the ticket that was emailed to you after you paid, not your invoice, as you may be refused entry without your valid ticket.

The on-the-gate ticket prices are below:

Low-Noise Display (5:30pm)Feature Display (8:00pm)
Adult (18+)£6£7
Child (6-17)£5£6
Under 6FreeFree
FamilyFamily tickets are not available on the gate

MAP:
A visitor’s site map is available HERE. This will also be displayed in convenient public places during the event.

TIMINGS:
We recommend you come when the gates open to avoid disappointment – once the park reaches capacity we will have to stop admitting people. Not only that, but arriving early also gives you a chance to visit all the stalls on offer and make the most of the evening! There’s plenty to do, so make sure to leave lots of time to enjoy our delicious food, relax by the campfire, and soak up the atmosphere. Please note that advance tickets only guarantee you entry up until 30 minutes before the fireworks go off. Scout Park will also close as soon as the fireworks finish, so it’s definitely worth arriving early to take advantage of everything we’ve got planned.

LOW-NOISE DISPLAY – gates open 4:00pm, fireworks 5:30pm

FEATURE DISPLAY – gates open 6:00pm, fireworks 8:00pm

See our event schedule for more information.

STALLS:
A number of stalls will be available throughout both displays, planned and run by Scouts from all over London. All our food and drink are very reasonably priced – because we know feeding a family adds up! – and the meat and bread comes from local independent businesses. There will also be activities for children, a classic campfire, and another bonfire specially dedicated to marshmallow toasting. We also have a brilliant selection of musicians performing live throughout the evening.

The event is mostly run by Wild Wolf, but we’ve also got a few other Units coming in to lend a hand. The full list of stalls is:

BBQ (meat & veggie)
Falafel wraps.
Pulled pork or jackfruit baps

“Cowboy” Beans
Hog roast
Poutine
Sausages by the campfire
Hot Drinks (tea, coffee, deluxe hot chocolate, mulled apple juice)

LOCATION & TRAVEL:
The event takes place at Scout Park. The address is Scout Park, Gordon Road, N11 2PB (Click to open in Google Maps). Unfortunately there will be no on-site parking, and we anticipate that the surrounding streets will fill up pretty quickly. However, not to worry! There is plenty of public transport nearby. Bounds Green tube station (Piccadilly Line) is only a few minutes’ walk away, as are the 184, 299, 102 (get off at Woodfield Way) and 221 (get off at Bounds Green) bus routes. Please be considerate to our neighbors in terms of noise and traffic when you leave the event.

WEATHER:
While our fingers are crossed for dry skies, there’s always the chance that it might rain. The event will be going ahead whatever the weather, so don’t let any grey skies put you off! However we would like to remind you that it is an outdoor event, and as such the ground may be muddy and the weather cold, so we recommend you wear sturdy footwear and warm, waterproof clothing on the night. The latest Met Office prediction is HERE.

ACCESS:
Almost all of Scout Park is accessible by wheelchair, but given the outdoor nature of the site plenty of the ground may become muddy and slippery, so please keep this in mind. Bring a torch if you have one as it’s fun for the kids and helps light the way for little feet at night!

SOCIAL MEDIA:
We’ll be updating our social media throughout the day and the event, so make sure you’re following us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to stay up-to-date with what’s going on! We’ll also be uploading a video of the event to our YouTube Channel on Sunday, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, check out last year’s video below, to get an idea of what the event will be like!

SECURITY:
Every effort is made to ensure the site is as safe as possible for the event. As a result, searching is a condition of entry and it may be necessary to search your bags or pushchair in line with our security arrangements. The security team reserve the right to eject anyone who violates the Terms and Conditions of the event or anyone in possession of something from the banned items list. Thank you in advance for your co-operation.

BANNED ITEMS:
– Fireworks/Sparklers
– Alcohol
– Illegal substances
– Smoking devices (including e-cigarettes)
– Dogs (apart from assistance dogs that are fine with fireworks)
– Weapons of any sort

ANY QUESTIONS?
We hope that has cleared up any queries you may have had, but if not, feel free to contact us here. There will also be an Info Tent at the event for any questions or concerns (or positive feedback!).

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you tonight!
