We’re not stringing up fairy lights and firing up the barbecue just yet, but to all of us here at WWESU, our annual Fireworks display feels just moments away. Exactly one month from now, on Saturday 3rd of November, Scout Park will open its gates to the 4,000+ people who attend North London Scouting’s biggest and best fireworks display.
An event of this size doesn’t come easy, and each year’s event begins planning and preparation the moment the last one ends. We now have dozens of spreadsheets, flyers going out across North London, Explorers selling tickets like mad and hundreds of other jobs going on to ensure that the event goes smoothly for our visitors!
A community and family favorite, our event is majority run on the night by Wild Wolf’s fantastic young people; running stalls, stringing up over a kilometer of cables, flipping burgers, even writing this blog post – all done by Explorers at Wild Wolf. Our specialized teams of Explorers are key to the planning and running of the event, and are one of the things that make Wild Wolf and our Fireworks display so unique.
The Creative team are doing a fantastic job designing flyers, making signage for Scout Park and preparing to cover the Park in bunting, fairly lights and candles.
The Publicity team have been posting on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram like mad, preparing press releases, and planning our throughout-the-night coverage of the event.
The Production team have the biggest onsite jobs, setting up cabling, lighting, and the sound system that the whole event relies on. They’ve done plenty of planning to ensure that the entirety of Scout Park is looking utterly fabulous for all our attendees.
The Events team are doing a great job ensuring that you are all kept entertained on the night, and you should expect to see plenty of great local young people playing in their bands on the night!
The rest of the Explorers are the smiling faces you see running the stalls on the big night, cooking burgers, spinning candyfloss, helping out at the information tent, or catering for the 300 volunteers and Explorers that we have onsite!
Finally (of course!) are our fantastic, inimitable Leaders, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that everything comes together just like magic and that everything goes to plan!
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us so far by buying tickets or spreading the word! Haven’t got your tickets yet?
