This weekend we pitched, cleaned, waterproofed, repaired and packed away the eight canvas patrol tents that we are taking to Kandersteg. We also sorted and cleaned the boxes of cooking equipment and checked and double checked all the other group kit, sorting it into numbered boxes as we went. Thanks to all Explorers who came and survived this tortuous task.

We also raided our local Tesco’s superstore for the non-perishable supplies that we will need, buying them completely out of Rocky Bars and breaking a conveyor belt when we overloaded the checkout! Feeling slightly guilty we crammed into a cab and headed back to Scout Park for yet more sorting and organising.

A back-breaking but satisfying and productive weekend – at last we are ready to go!
