On Saturday 10th November, Wild Wolf ESU held their annual Fireworks Display at Scout Park. It was bigger and better than ever before, and a huge success with almost 1000 Scouts, friends and their families, coming along to enjoy the night. There were stalls with Krispy Kreme doughnuts and delicious home-made cakes, a barbeque with gourmet burgers and sausages, and a surprise guest – a flaming tuba player!
The fireworks were once again fantastic, and lit up the sky across North London that evening.
Explorers and their parents from Wild Wolf ESU all contributed to making this such a great event – first there was a day of preparation and hard work – mowing lawns, cutting hedges, preparing food, raking leaves and putting up gazebos. After the event everything was cleared away and the shattered explorers spent the night at Scout Park.
On Sunday morning there was an early start, and luckily this took the form of a full English breakfast! We all attended the Haringey Remembrance Day Parade in Wood Green where our Patrol Leaders, along with local dignitaries, laid wreaths at the monument. We missed Marlon this year, because as he is now a Queen’s Scout he was attending the Remembrance Parade in Whitehall, and was seen on TV! Overall the two events were a great experience, and as always we hope for a bigger and even better fireworks display next year, and for even more people to turn up to the Remembrance Parade.
