Over the Easter weekend we went to the Peak District. We drove up from London on Friday night and arrived at the Youth Hostel at around 10pm.  After dinner we went to bed and woke up the next day to discover thick snow on the ground and big drifts at the sides of the roads.  

We split into two groups. Our group of six headed off with Annie and Roni and we took a long walk around Ladybower Reservoir then climbed higher up where there were fantastic views and great spots to take photos.

Felling tired we headed back to the Youth Hostel and had meatballs and spaghetti for dinner and played games – Irish Snap got very competitive!  Afterwards we studied the map on the wall to plan the next day’s walk.

The next day was of course Easter Sunday and there were Easter eggs for all of us.  Fired up with chocolate we headed to Mam Tor – one of the highest points in the Peak District. The views from here were amazing! More brilliant photos.

The walk ended back with a glass of coke at a handy pub. Then we packed up the mini bus and headed home – would defiantly go again!
